Søren Solkær Starbird is one of the worlds most commissioned photographers of leading musicians and rock bands. His impressive list of assignments includes the likes of The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Paul McCartney, U2 and Kylie Minogue. He travels extensively for photographic assignments for record labels (EMI, Atlantic Records, Universal Music etc), ad agencies and magazines (Q Magazine, Rolling Stone, GQ, Wallpaper etc).
Søren also works on artistic bodies of work for gallery exhibitions. He has held solo shows in Prague, Copenhagen, Cologne, Chicago and New York. He travels widely throughout Asia, particularly India where he photographed his "Soul" series - portraits of Yogis in meditation.
Søren has self-published two books - his most recent CLOSER was released in 2009 and features over 200 pages of rock stars he has photographed. CLOSER was subsequently picked up by US publishing house Gingko - the publisher of Banksy's books - for the worldwide distribution of the (revised) second edition. Exhibitions of his works from the book have been shown in Copenhagen (Pete Doherty played at the opening), London, Beijing and in late November - Milan. Italian Vogue featured Søren in its November 2010 edition.
All of Søren's photographs are strictly limited to editions of 12 and are available in 3 sizes - 60x90cm, 100x150cm and 150x225cm, printed on archival paper.
