Born 1973. Lives and works in Sydney.
His technical abilities particularly as a printmaker and his aesthetic sensibility create work of the finest quality.
Benjamin has been exhibiting since 1989. Over the last
decade, he has shown extraordinary perseverance in his rise to be
regarded as one of the hottest painters in Australia. His creative
talents saw him work as a chef and in the music industry before
fully dedicating himself to an art career.
He has been short listed in The Australian Art Collector Magazine's
50 Most Collectable Australian Artists alongside the critically
acclaimed names of Blackman, Olsen, Whiteley, Boyd and Nolan.
Benjamin's romanticised landscapes are both evocative and visually
stunning. His technical abilities, particularly as a
printmaker, and his aesthetic sensibility create work of the finest
quality.
He has exhibited extensively in Australia and abroad with shows in
London, Tokyo, Singapore and New York. With sell-out exhibitions
for the last decade, his success and the broad appeal of his work
has attracted enormous interest worldwide. Included in the
collections of many State and Regional galleries, his prize
winnings include the 2005 Packing Room Prize, Archibald Prize, Art
Gallery of New South Wales; 2004 Finalist, Archibald Prize, Art
Gallery of New South Wales; and 2002 Finalist, The Doug Moran
