Art provides the world with a sensory experience like no other. To own a piece of this world is a dream, to view it a privilege and to earn a rate of return on it, a bonus. Art Equity has managed to combine all three.
Art Equity is an Australian company delivering art advisory and innovative investment solutions to collectors and investors in Australia and abroad. Our combination of art expertise and education, structured investments and passion offers unprecedented opportunities for clients to build wealth and personal enrichment from Australian art.
Our clients include art lovers, private and corporate collectors and astute investors who integrate art into their broader investment portfolios. We also have advisor relationships with leading financial institutions throughout Australia and Asia.
Art Equity customises art portfolios for clients, for rental to the corporate sector. This enables our clients to generate an income from their art in addition to the potential capital appreciation of the work over time.
We use our extensive networks for sourcing high quality art from both the primary and secondary markets and have exclusively worked on projects with some of Australia's greatest artists, printmakers and Indigenous communities. We also provide a private client advisory service including research, private investment vehicles, specialised advice and acquisition of works at auction.
Reputation and trust is at the core of Art Equity's relationships with artists, suppliers, partners and most importantly, our clients. Art Equity is positioned well to guide the process of acquisition and help build portfolios of important Australian art.

Bikes for Bush is a unique intiative founded by Art Equity and Australia's pro-cycling team, Pegasus Racing. The foundation promotes positive health and lifestyle benefits through the donation of BMX bicycles to the children in Australia's remote indigenous communities.
Bikes for Bush draws on the talents of Australia's most acclaimed Indigenous artists including Wentja Napaltjarri, Nyurapayia Nampitjinpa (Mrs Bennett) and Yannima Tommy Watson amongst, who have painted state-of-the-art bicycles into collectable artworks for a grand auction and charity night on 1 October in Melbourne. At this time the eyes of the world will be on the finest international cyclists at the UCI Road World Championships in Geelong.
"Bikes for Bush is a genuine partnership between the Australian art, sport and corporate communities and Indigenous Australia," says Brett Godfrey, ex-CEO of Virgin Blue.

Extensive market relationships
Art Equity has long-established relationships with artists, art dealers, private and commercial collectors, auction houses and industry experts. This enables us to access the best quality fine art at the best price.
Our established relationships with artists and Master Printmakers provide us with exclusive supply rights for major limited print editions. Print editions present an excellent starting point for collecting and investing.
Earning income from art
A growing trend in the corporate sector has seen a move away
from art ownership to art rental. This has opened up
opportunities for investors to benefit from this high-demand niche
market.
Art Equity Rental Portfolios are uniquely positioned to help
investors create their own portfolio of artworks that can provide
an income stream for fixed periods of time in addition to the
potential capital gain. Clients are advised on the selection of
artworks to align with both their collecting and investing goals
and to maximise the rental opportunities for the portfolio.
Customised investment portfolios
Recognising the need for art to provide an income stream - a
traditional yardstick of financial analysis, Art Equity has
developed high performing art rental portfolios that deliver a
return as well as potential capital growth over time.
The customised portfolios of artwork are rented to the corporate
sector for their offices and foyers, returning clients between 5%
and 9% per annum in rental income. Many investors use their
superannuation funds to invest in Art Equity rental portfolios, but
must comply with strict ATO guidelines.
Art Equity Premium
Art Equity's premium art advisory service is designed for
clients who are serious about their art collection and investment.
Members benefit from a range of services from customised
reporting and pre-market offerings to VIP invitations and discounts
on art related products and services.
Art Equity Premium offers outstanding value. For a
conservative annual fee, members have access to all the market
information needed to make informed buying decisions regardless of
where the work is purchased.
Contact us if you'd
like to know more about the benefits, special privileges and advice
that comes with being an Art Equity Premium member.
DIY superannuation
The preference for long term investment horizons has seen many
investors allocate part of their self-managed superannuation funds
(SMSF's) into fine art. A tangible asset with strong growth
potential (plus the option of an income stream), art offers
valuable peace of mind for the investors future.
As with all assets held within a SMSF, fine art is subject to
strict guidelines ensuring the asset is being held in compliance
with the fund's investment strategy and the Sole Purpose
Test. The Sole Purpose Test ensures that the investments made
by trustees are for benefit only upon retirement.
Check with your accountant and/or financial advisor to ensure that
you understand the requirements and current legislation.
